Association
Your association is making renewed efforts to strengthen the links with the local authority and gardening communities, engage further with tenants and nurture the allotments’ overall regeneration. It’s important to remember that your committee members volunteer their time to help where possible on site and socially. The association aims to support, sustain & safeguard allotments for future generations to enjoy. We help promote the interests of all members in their gardening activities, including co-operation with other gardening associations in Hull and the East Riding. This website is a great resource, full of information about our allotments and where to get support at the site. It’s also full of really useful links to set you off on the right track.

Constitution & Code of Conduct
Newland Allotments Tenants Association ensures we have a constitutionin place as a fundamental practice for our principles and established precedents that constitutes the legal basis of our association. It’s our set of rules to the allotment site and to the tenants that occupy it at any given time. These are always reviewed at our AGM (Annual General Meeting). You can find more about this next meeting on this page further down. We've provided our constitution which you can view here.
Meetings
NNewland Allotments committee holds several meetings throughout the year. These meetings are used as a way of raising funds for the site improvements, support development and help to sustain the future of the site. There are three types of meetings we hold as part of the Newland Allotments & Tenants Association.
Assoication Meeting
These types of meetings are treated as admin meetings, such as discussing details and financial matters relating to the shop, potential organisation and planning for such things as the shop rota. These meetings are also used for discussing matters from plot holders that are specific to individual requirements. These meetings allow for the honorary members to meet as part of the committee to organise events and workshops throughout the year.
NATA (Newland Allotment Tenants Association) Meeting
The Tenants Association Meeting (NATA Meeting) is where the honorary members, along with the committee and all members of the association come together to discuss matters relating to the allotment site as a whole. The full coordination of honorary members, rest of the committee and NATA members brings everyone together, to develop and put things into place for the benefit and future of the allotment.
AGM (Annual General Meeting)
An Annual General Meeting, commonly referred to as an AGM, is a formal meeting, which is held once a year. The AGM is a review of the year and deal with issues such as the election of honorary members and committee and reviewing of the annual accounts. Newland Allotments as an individual organisation has a section of our Constitution which deals with AGMs, and this gives guidance as to how the AGM should be run and what matters should be dealt with. Although it is classed as a formal meeting, it can also be a good opportunity to communicate with NATA members, partners to the allotment and other interested parties.
